Snowdrops on the back drive
A Spring Break
"enjoy Skye at the beginning of the year"

As the short, often stormy, winter nights melt away into spring, the island wakes up again. Winter snows give way to drifts of snowdrops; banks of violets, primroses and celandine are quickly followed by daffodils and bluebells...

The first cuckoo (heard 18th April 2009, 26th April 2010, 18th April 2011, 29th April 2012, 20th April 2013, 21st April 2014 and 25th April 2015) heralded the arrival of our new season lambs and the swallows arrived back with us on 21st April. It is now time again for the warm sunshine of late April and May... and our May Spring Break offers you the chance to enjoy this for yourself.
